The Cultural Night is organized by Unison AS in cooperation with Bergens Tidende, with assistance from the City of Bergen, Hordaland Municipality, and Sparebanken Vest Savings Bank. The Cultural Night has been an annual event since 2005, and has since become a part of the local lexicon. The number of visitors goes up every year - regardless of the weather, and visiting audiences and artists from all over also goes up each year. The cultural night has gone from a city-wide event to a regional event, and it wishes to showcase Bergens multifaceted and fascinating cultural offerings, while at the same time lowering the bar for entering the professional art world. In this way we hope to encourage those who would not normally pay to attend a philharmonic concert, or exhibits at museums and galleries, can also get a taste of these kinds of experiences, for free!
