The festival presents the incredible fresh ingredients that our rich region have to offer. Talented local food growers present and sell their specialties from both the sea and land. You'll meet growers face to face, learn about the food, hear the stories behind it, and get insight into how it's all produced. You'll be able to enjoy and buy a wide selection of local cheeses, meats, seafoods, honey, vegetables, fruits, berries, pastries, and other enticing products. The festival also features a large restaurant tent, "The Food City of Bergen" where many of the city's best restaurants serve exquisite dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. Guests can enjoy the many flavors, the sparkling ciders, and experience a delightful atmosphere and true dining pleasures. Bergen is a member city of UNESCOs creative network of gastronomy, and several other member cities will participate in the festival with their cooking cultures and specialties. In 2016 the cities of Dènia, Parma, and Östersund participated. The Children's Food Festival, where kids experience and take part in a series of exciting cooking activities, is also included in the festival. Kids will learn to cook tasty and healthy dishes, and can meet farmers and their animals, jump in the hay and other fun activities. You will also find Bergen Craft Beer Festival next door to the Bergen Food Festival and the ticket will give you access to both festivals.
